Chair Yoga really is Yoga for Everyone. In Chair Yoga, we practice traditional Yoga poses either seated, or standing using the chair for support. You will experience all the movements and benefits of Yoga, but in a more accessible and perhaps gentler way.
The first three classes are practiced seated in the chair, whilst in the standing series we use the chair to bring the ground up to us.
Just like Traditional Yoga, the series is designed to improve strength, flexibility and mobility in the body, whilst nourishing and calming down the nervous system.
Chair Yoga works the entire body, and is ideal for those who are new to Yoga, who may have limited movement or are perhaps coming back from injury.
It’s also a great way to energise and mobilise your body after a long day seated at your computer.
All you need is your chair and a mat to keep the chair sturdy and safe. Some classes may also require Yoga blocks and a Strap.

1. Chair Yoga for a Healthy Spine
“You are only as young and healthy as your spine is strong and supple” – Ancient Yogi Saying
The strength and wellness of our spine supports all aspects of healthy living. In this class we focus on strengthening and lengthening our spine and core muscles whilst remaining seated. This will incorporate movements and poses for your neck, shoulders, upper, middle and lower back.
You will take your spine through movements not experienced in everyday living, like twisting and lateral side bending, as well as poses and stretches for the neck, shoulders and hips which carry much of our everyday tension. We end the class in a short meditation.
Expect to get up from the chair feeling strengthened, lengthened and refreshed.
2. Full Body Chair Flow
This class will have you moving your whole body, literally from head to toe!
You will actively flow through all of your joints, create a little bit of heat in the body and end up feeling activated and energised.
This is a great class if you need a break after a long period sitting at your desk or working on your computer.

3. Slow Flow using Props
This class uses blocks and a strap to strengthen and stretch into the body.
We will move slowly and with control, opening up the body and allowing deeper muscle activation in the more static poses. A great class for building strength in the safety of your Chair, with options offered for all levels.
4. Chair Flow Combination
In this class we explore different ways of practicing Yoga using a Chair.
Starting seated on the chair, this class then moves through a dynamic standing sequence, ending lying down on the earth.
Expect a little intensity, but with modifications available for all levels.
5. Ground Flow with Chair
This is a grounding class using the chair for support.
Explore both grounded and standing poses using the Chair.
6. Chair Vinyasa Flow
This is a stronger more traditional Yoga class using the chair as a prop.
In this standing practice, the chair brings the earth up to the body. We will incorporate fundamental Yoga asanas and sequencing, using the chair for accessibility. You may be familiar with the poses and sequences practiced, but you will experience them is a slightly different way.
